Renewable World and AWEA: A Mutually-Beneficial Partnership

June 11, 2013

AT THE beginning of May, the American Wind Energy Association (AWEA) announced its decision to become an official supporter of Renewable World, the charity of the Renewable Energy Industry.

The relationship was launched at AWEA’s WINDPOWER 2013 annual industry conference in Chicago (May 5th – 8th 2013), where thousands of US and international wind industry professionals, experts, leaders, decision makers, and researchers gathered to continue the successful development of the industry.

As part of AWEA’s support, we received free entrance and a stand at the exhibition, and going forward, regular communications with AWEA members.

We’re really pleased to start the relationship with AWEA and look forward to building our network in the US, in order to promote our transformative work raising the income of some of the world’s poorest people using renewable energy.

We’re well established as the charity of the renewable energy industry in Europe, so we’re delighted our work is now being recognised on both sides of the Atlantic.

We’re very much looking forward to a strong and productive relationship with AWEA.

To tie in with this excellent step, we’re also establishing an Advisory Board in the United States to advise us on the best way to expand our North American network.

AWEA’s Lori Rugh, Sr. Director, Marketing & Sales said “AWEA is proud to begin this new relationship with Renewable World which is such a worthy organization. We look forward to digging in and promoting their cause.”

AWEA has more than 1,300 members, and is the hub of the wind energy industry in the United States. It is a national trade organisation promoting wind energy as a clean source of electricity for consumers around the world.

It represents wind power project developers, equipment suppliers, services providers, parts manufacturers, utilities, researchers, and others involved in the wind industry – one of the world’s fastest growing energy industries. AWEA also represents hundreds of wind energy advocates from around the world.

As an organisation helping some of the world’s poorest people to lift themselves out of poverty by establishing small scale enterprises which generate and utilize renewable energy, including wind, to raise incomes, we are delighted to be working with AWEA, using our operations to help stimulate the market-based development of affordable, reliable renewable energy services for some of the poorest consumers in the world.
