16/04/12 EWEA2012: First WindMade labelled event run on 100% Renewable Energy

Renewable World is proud to be the chosen charity of the European Wind Energy Association (EWEA) and to be able to exhibit at their annual event - EWEA2012 which is the first event in the world to be given the WindMade label, certifying that the event is being run on 100% renewable energy. EWEA CEO Christian Kjaer explained that, “EWEA strives to make its events sustainable, and to promote wind energy not only through political lobbying but also by making direct use of wind power. EWEA is convinced that WindMade will drive investment into this technology, and we encourage other organsiations and events to follow our lead in becoming WindMade.”

16/01/12 Launch of 2012: UN Year of Sustainable Energy for All

UN Secretary General Ban-Ki Moon launched the 2012 UN Year of Sustainable Energy for All at the World Future Energy Summit (WFES2012) on 16th January in Abu Dhabi. In his key note address, Ban-Ki Moon called on governments, the private sector and civil society to make significant commitments to make the goal of universal energy access for all a reality by 2030. Renewable World has been asked to participate in the high level energy practitioner network which will mobilise action on committments that will help drive change on the ground.
