Corporate Supporter - Redwood Cable Projects

Redwood Cable Projects are an Electrical, IT infrastructure, telecommunications and satellite cabling company based in Country Durham, North East England and have been supporting Renewable World since the start of 2012.

The company provides UK coverage and in the last 3 years have worked on cabling projects with the NHS stretching from Devon to Aberdeen, providing data, telephony and multi-media infrastructure as well as project planning, management and maintenance.

Richard Foster and Mark Smith, Directors at Redwood are both keen that the company is built on strong values and is socially responsible, including consideration for the environment and the company has introduced a range of measures to promote this including supporting Renewable World's carbon compensation scheme. as they explain:

Director Richard Foster explains why Redwood chose to support Renewable World:

"The nature of our work does mean that there are environmental impacts; we wanted to find a solution that not only mitigated these but also promoted a partnership with our customers in doing so. We are now calculating the cost of the carbon footprint for every project we undertake. Every quote we raise now will include this as an additional cost. Redwood will pay half these costs and we are inviting our customers to pay the remaining half. We have been talking to our customers about this and their reponse has been encouraging.

In choosing a charity Renewable World ticked all the buttons for us.The initiative has already had a positive impact on the company both in terms of our own motivation in doing something that makes a difference, and in how our customers are responding. We see our relationship with Renewable World as long term and will be actively promoting the organisation's work to all our business partners and contacts as well as taking advantage of opportunities for team building through additional fundraising events."

By compensating for their carbon emissions, Redwood Cables are supporting Renewable World to bring the benefits of clean water to several mountain communities in Nepal through the installation of ram pump technology.
