Run to the Beat!

July 20, 2012

If you’ve been bitten by the Olympic bug and fancy soaking up some of the 2012 atmosphere then why not take on a sporting challenge of your own? Run to the Beat is a unique, musical half marathon which takes place on Sunday 28th October around the East London Olympic zone. The event has become so popular it sold out in record time this year but never fear, Renewable World still has charity places available.

Having never run a half marathon before I decided to take part in Run to the Beat for Renewable World last year and I can honestly say, it was a great experience. There were 14 music stages scattered around the course with live acts playing such as Calvin Harris, Annie Mac and Tinie Tempah and the music makes it so much easier to keep going when you’re legs are starting to feel tired. Renewable World will provide you with a running t-shirt and fundraising pack to support you in your challenge and you can feel safe in the knowledge that the money you raise will help to change the lives of some of the poorest people in the world who don’t have access to energy.

So whether you are a regular runner, or always fancied having a go at a half marathon like me but just never got round to it – now’s your chance! With the atmosphere of the Olympics promising to continue long after the games are over, this year’s Run to the Beat looks like it will be bigger and better than ever. So don’t miss out on the opportunity to secure your place – deadline for entries is 24th August.
