Challenge yourself in 2012 and support Renewable World!

Brighton Half Marathon - 19th Feb 2012

We have a few places left for the Brighton half marathon now in its 22nd year. The route (from 2011) is flatter and faster and will take in many of the City’s iconic sights. It’s predicted more people are likely to take part in challenge events in 2012 to mark our Olympic year – and we’d be delighted if you would like to represent Renewable World. 

The race takes place on Sunday 19th February 2012 and is the first major city half marathon of 2012.

With its sea breeze and scenic route that takes in the sights of the Royal Pavillion, North Laines and Palace Pier, Brighton is fast becoming one of the most popular marathon events.  And its in our home town so we'll be there to cheer you on your way!

running4renewables - Edinburgh 27th May 2012

Renewable World will soon be taking entries for the 2012 running4renewables event where the renewable energy industries finest compete in the Edinburgh Marathon - officially the UK's fastest course and Half Marathon. If a marathon seems like a bit much, why not challenge yourself and friends or colleagues to the Hairy Haggis relay and split the distance between a team of four?

Hellrider - West Wycombe (Buckinghamshire) 2nd June 2012

The newest event in our calendar, replacing the triathlon – this is an off-road duathlon (run and cycle) in a beautiful stately home estate. 

The event is a team challenge which takes place over 8 hours. Your team have to complete relay style in any order with only one person on the course at one time and alternating between running and cycling.  Fitter people can do more laps, others can do fewer (but everyone must do 1 lap) – the competition is to see how many laps you can do in 8 hours! 

Bring the family (small fee for spectators) – there’s a great spectator area, some lovely walks and with each entry you get a free adult ticket to nearby cave attraction called Hellfire caves! Renewable World will also have a marquee and be organising a networking event for participants during and after the event.

Renewable World Spendenlauf – Hamburg, Germany - 16th June

The Spendenlauf is our first event outside the UK and with Germany leading the renewables race in Europe what better place to tham Hamburg to hold our first European event! The Splendenlauf involves a 4 mile run or walk so is really easy for everyone to take part in. If you are based in the UK you can raise money in sterling through justgiving, European companies can raise money in euros through our new European fundraising site – opening soon!
